As mentioned before, prior to the internship I was introduced to a rather broad assignment which meant that my first step would be to DISCOVER more precisely what problem I need to solve. The, was based on my own reflections on the building and my personal wish to "boost the creative feel and the happiness of the building users in an interactive way".
As my client is aware of some of the problems that the users of the TQ building are facing my goals in this phase were to:

Discover the problems at the TQ Building
Acquire deeper knowledge of the project's main topics (the link between creativity, productivity, and happiness)
Understand the routines of the TQ building users
The image below shows the triangulation of different methods that were used in order to reach the stepping stone of creating personas and defining a specific problem and target audience. (that would be explained in detail in PHASE 2 - DEFINE) Both points 1 and 2 were a preparation for the execution of point 3 (User Research).
The discovery phase started answering most of the initial research questions. By the end of the phase, some of the questions below had been answered and others needed to be further looked at in phase DEFINE.

How do the inhabitants of the TQ experience their current working days in the given environment?
How does the surrounding environment have an effect on people’s well-being and productivity?
What is the relation between mind rest, creative mindset, and productivity?
What strategies can be used to effectively help people in getting into a working mindset?
